ALBBUQUERQUE, NM—– Full-time ninja and part-time bus driver, Dan Salderbury, 33, is organizing a march on Washington D.C. He says ninjas have been marginalized in today’s world and that President Obama has “clearly shown disrespect for the shadow warriors by not pushing for laws that protect my kind.”
Dan goes on, informing that ninjas experience blatant prejudice every day and have been oppressed longer than any other people on the planet. Dan granted a rare interview in 1994 with Ninja Magazine for Ninjas editor-in-chief, Mark Foodick, where he was quoted as saying, “a waiter wouldn’t serve me once because I threw a ninja star at a kid’s birthday balloon.”
Dan acknowledges that as a ninja he has done shady things that may be off-putting to some people, but counters this with, “that’s what we do, baby! We sneak, stalk and ninja star our way through the world. We have a voice and we deserve to be served at all restaurants!”
It should be noted that it’s unclear at this time if Dan has been oppressed in other places, aside from food establishments.
